Admission and Dispositions
We provide admission and disposition services for the military treatment facility. The admissions and dispositions department manages admission and disposition functions for four wards: PNU, ICU, MSU, and L&D. They route Emergency Department admissions to the appropriate wards and generate inpatient bands according to admission details and HIPAA regulations, as well as verify patient information and demographics. They notify active duty units of all service member admissions within one hour of admission and of disposition within one hour of discharge. The admissions and dispositions department tracks patients who are classified as “absence sick” who are admitted within the local area or lower 48 hospitals. They administratively monitor patients who are seriously ill or very seriously ill and work alongside our casualty affairs liaison to ensure beneficiaries receive emergency travel pay if necessary. Furthermore, our office manages the Line of Duty Program within the hospital by making sure that all documents are routed and completed in a timely manner. The staff conduct ward rounds to verify patients’ Third Party Collections information and status. Finally, the department monitors and generates death packets within the hospital, as well as manage patient valuables.
