The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit tricare.mil/shutdown

Health Services

Emergency Department / Ambulance Services

We provide comprehensive adult and pediatric emergency care services for all eligible Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs beneficiaries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients receive an initial triage assessment by a nurse or paramedic and evaluation by a board-certified emergency medicine physician or emergency medicine physician assistant. The emergency department should be reserved for concerns related to loss of life, limb, or eyesight. Call 911 to request an ambulance on- or off-base. Fire and Emergency Services personnel provide on-base ambulance services for medical emergencies. Anchorage Fire Department paramedics provide off-base ambulance services. A fee is charged for this service but it may be partially reimbursed by TRICARE, depending on the nature of your emergency.
