The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Who We Serve

We provide routine medical care to special duty populations, such as:
  • Aircrew
  • ATC
  • Firefighters
  • EOD
  • Parachutists
  • Dependents of the populations above

Return to Flying Status

Active duty-only 2992 holders, including active flyers or controllers, can walk in for a Return to Flying Status evaluation with a flight surgeon. The hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.

How to Make an Appointment

Acute and routine medical appointments can be made by calling Flight Medicine at 907-551-2992. Additionally, the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal can be accessed to message directly with the Flight Medicine team for things such as medication refills.

Closures

The Flight Medicine Clinic is closed Thursday afternoons from noon to 4:30 p.m. for training. Additionally, the Flight Medicine Clinic is closed for medical readiness training the third Thursday of each month.
